Summer Tips - Pet Lover's Corner, Quick and Easy Tips for You and Your Dog This Summer

By Chloe

1.  Walk your dog early in the morning or later in the evening.

(Temperatures are high; sidewalks will burn the pads of the dog’s paws.)

2.  Always bring along water and make frequent water stops for the dog
during exercise.

3.  If you are going to hike with your dog, do it very early in the morning.

(Carry plenty of water and make it an easy hike.)

4.  If you are going to run errands, and it’s 100 degrees outside, leave the
dog at home.

(If you have to take him along, do not ever leave him in the car without the A/C on.) Fresh water and shade are imperative for dogs in AZ. (Dogs dehydrate very quickly in the summer sun.)

Just remember these quick and easy common sense tips so that you and your dog can have a safe and fulfilling Arizona summer. And for those of you who want to spoil your pooch this summer, check out these  “cool” gifts and places to hang out:
