Personal Trainer, Getting Exercise Back on top of the "TO DO" list
By Michele Zamora
A lot of people make New Year’s Resolutions to lose weight or to start living healthier lifestyles. If they have an exercise plan and make the commitment, they can reach their goals. Oftentimes, a person’s busy lifestyle takes over and exercise is not at the top of the “TO DO” list.
If a person has difficulty sticking to an exercise program, a great way to stay on track is to hire a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer. A Personal Fitness Trainer can provide clients with a realistic exercise program and motivate them to stay with the program. The fitness program is designed for each individual. The Certified Personal Trainer should ask the client to provide health history information, fitness goals and nutritional information. The Personal Trainer and client should discuss the client’s current exercise program (if they have a program.) The client will need to tell the Trainer what time frame they will be able to allocate to a fitness program. Once a Certified Personal Trainer has the above information they will be able to design a program for the client.
It is important for a Personal Trainer to get to know their client and their fitness goals. The more the trainer knows about the client, the better suited the fitness program will be for the client. Some clients will want an exercise program that will allow them to work-out at home. Other clients may prefer working out at a Fitness Center. Some of the goals that a Certified Personal Trainer can assist with are:
• Lose Weight
• Improve Cardiovascular Fitness
• Reduce Low Back Pain
• Improve Nutrition
• Improve Flexibility
• Improve Muscle Mass
• Reduce Stress
• Strengthen the Core (back & Abs)
• Improve Balance
The client can train for “Functional Fitness”. For example: If a client has difficulty getting up and out of a chair, then the Personal Trainer would provide exercises for the client to strengthen the quads and core (abs & back). Certified Personal Fitness Trainers can provide individual training sessions and group fitness equipment orientations at your location and group fitness training classes.
